It’s been over 15 years since the employees at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company on the US version of The Office captured the hearts of audiences everywhere. The Office remains one of the most popular shows ever, with a constant demand for reruns on network stations and diehard fans monitoring where the show is currently streaming. Steve Carell
Where would The Office be without its most recognizable character, Micheal Scott as played by Steve Carell. Steve Carell left the show in season 7 to pursue a career in films and took the goodwill of his fans with him, starring in such hits as Foxcatcher, The Big Short, and the Despicable Me franchise. Most recently, he featured on The Morning Show, an Apple TV show. He does, however remain close to the Office brand.

Rainn Wilson
Rain Wilson charmed audiences everywhere as Dwight Schrute and his bizarre antics and ongoing frenemy relationship with Krasinski’s Jim Halpert. Since the Office, Wilson has gone on to voice Lex Luther in the Death of Superman and star in such hits as the US version of Utopia, which was canceled after only one season due to themes in the show being too similar to conspiracy theories around the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also an author.

John Krasinski
Perhaps the biggest breakout on this list, John Krasinski recently won massive acclaim with his directorial debut in the 2018 film, A Quiet Place. After the film had such success, a sequel was ordered and created, with Krasinki starring in a smaller capacity. Krasinski’s biggest on-screen accomplishment recently was joining the MCU as superhero Mr. Fantastic, although there is no word yet on whether he will feature in the role in future Marvel cinematic films.

Jenna Fischer
Playing Krasniki’s on-screen love interest, Pam, Jenna Fischer won hearts and minds with her affable persona while also showing a playful side as she assisted Jim in his many pranks against Wilson’s Dwight. More recently, Fischer starred in two seasons of Splitting Up Together on ABC and currently cohosts an Office-themed podcast with Angela Kinsey. She was also known for comedy, Blades of Glory and the horror film Slither and You, Me and The Apocolypse.

B. J. Novak
Known for a role in The Amazing Spiderman, Inglorious Basterds, and most recently Vengence, B.J. Novak is well loved for his role as Ryan Howard in The Office. He briefly reunited with fellow Office co-star Mindy Kaling and featured on-screen in her sitcom, The Mindy Project. Novak is also a children’s book author, and godfather to Kaling’s young daughter, Katherine. He has most recently written a series of books that are aimed at adults.

Melora Hardin
Jan Levinson on The Office was played by none other than Melora Hardin. Hardin was well known before The Office for The Little House on the Parie and Dirty Dancing, and she continues to find success in more recent shows such as The Bold Type and A Million Little Things. She also performed in a number of mid-2000s comedies, such as the Rob Schinder film, The Hot Chick., 17 Again, and The Hannah Montana film.

Leslie David Baker
Since playing Stanley Hudson on The Office, Leslie David Baker has featured on numerous TV shows such as Raven’s Home, Fam, and Scorpion. Aside from live-action roles, he has done voice work for Disney cartoons, such as Puppy Dog Pals. Before finding success on The Office, Leslie David Baker also featured in productions such as The God Father Part 2, Malcolm in the Middle, and Threat Level: Midnight. He continues to do much voice work.

Playing the oafish but lovable Kevin Malone, Brian Baumgartner found mainstream success on The Office, even scoring his own spin-off, Kevin’s Loan, and featured in another spin-off, The Office: The Accountant. Most recently, he played a feature role in the 2020 comedy Electric Jesus. He has also done voice work for animated films for Rumble, and Rio. He also played a part in the 2016 soft reboot of Ghostbusters, and numerous other comedy films too.

Kate Flannery played Jim’s mom on The Office and offered an exciting insight into Krasinski’s character’s back story. Since then, she’s started in shows like All Night and Aussie Girl. She’s also done voice work for popular Cartoon Network shows such as Steven Univers and OK K.O!. She also regularly performs in a musical comedy, The Lampshades, which is certainly worth doing. She recently placed seventh in Dancing With The Stars with Pasha Pashkov.

Angela Kinsey
Angela Kinsey played Angela on The Office and isn’t the only actress to play a character with the same name as them, as we will see later. Since starring in The Office, she has starred in the canceled show Haters Back Off and has a side role in the Asian American comedy series Fresh Off The Boat. She most recently starred in Never Have I Ever on Netflix, created by The Office co-star Mindy Kaling.

Phyllis Smith
Playing the mild-mannered Phyllis Lapin-Vance, Smith has gone on to star in the hit 3d animated film Inside, where she voiced the character of Sadness, alongside The Office co-star Mindy Kaling, who voiced Disgust. Most recently, she acted in The OA, a Netflix mystery series. During her Office run, she also starred in the Cameron Diaz film, Bad Teacher. Other than that, she has been enjoying some peace and quiet away from television show acting.

Ed Helms was certainly a fan favorite on The Office, and his fans have had a lot to enjoy him since he left The Office. He was a major star of the hit Hangover series and a well-liked 2013 remake of Vacation. He also does TV work for networks such as NBC, including True Story, which he hosts with Randall Park. He also starred in Coffee & Kareem, a 2020 Netflix comedy, with Taraji P. Henson.

Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling is one of the most successful The Office stars, as you can see from the frequent mentions of her already on this list. Following The Office, her own show, The Mindy Project, ran for a full three seasons on Fox. It was then acquired by Hulu, who ordered an additional three seasons. Aside from acting, she is also a best-selling author and was a producer on Four Weddings and a Funeral and Champions.

Craig Robinson didn’t play a major role on The Office, but his time on screen always made an impression. He went on to start in some hit comedies such as This Is The End and the controversial Sausage Party. In terms of sitcoms, he also appeared at least once a season on the now canceled Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He recently cameoed in the Fox TV series, What We Do In The Shadows, a hit horror comedy.

A lesser-known character everyone loves to hate, Creed Bratton has mainly moved out of acting, simply taking small roles as cowboys in various films set in the West. His main work is as a singer, having recently released an album called While the Young Punks Dance. He also regularly tours, doing comedy shows and, of course, playing live music. Look out for him on various streaming services such as Spotify, Soundcloud, and even Apple music.

Ellie Kemper has done very well for herself following her success on The Office, getting her own acclaimed comedy show, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which won numerous awards and ended in January of 2019. She has started in numerous hits such as Bridesmaids while also doing voice work for cartoons like The Secret Life of Pets and its sequel. She is also an author, having written the book My Squirrel Days. She has since retired.

Oscar Nunez
Another actor who plays a character with the same name, Oscar Nunez frequently featured in the series. Since starring in The Office, he has been in other things, such as Baywatch, which starred the Rock, and despite causing quite a splash, petered out quickly. He also starred in the show Shameless and People of Earth. Recently he featured in the Netflix Latinx comedy show, Mr. Iglesias. His most recent credit is The Lost City, 2022 .

Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones is known for The Office while simultaneously starring, perhaps more famously, in Parks and Recreation. She’s also starred in a number of comedy films, such as I Love You Man, but more recently is more well known for her work with sex positivity and human trafficking awareness in docuseries, Hot Girls Wanted, which focuses on the sex industry. She still acts, however, having starred alongside Bill Murray in On The Rocks in 2020.

Toby Lieberstein
Not just an on-screen presence on The Office, Toby Lieberstein was the showrunner for several seasons too. Showing a lot of promise behind the cameras, Lieberstein was also brought on to act as showrunner for Ghosted, and served as an executive producer on HBO’s The Newsroom, a highly acclaimed drama. He has reprised his Toby persona on briefly most famously in a Super Bowl advert. It was a tongue-in-cheek stab at people taking time off.

While he was loved on The Office, Zach Woods is probably better known as the ultra-determined Jared on the HBO comedy Silicon Valley, which concluded with a final season in December of 2019. Since then, he’s appeared here and there, starring alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, making a small appearance in Ghostbusters, and starring in Playing House. He has more projects coming out, so keep a look out for them soon.

Idris Elba
While he only played a brief role on The Office, Idris Elba’s character is a fan favorite and frequently featured in reaction gifs people have clipped from the show. Elba hardly needs an introduction. He’s been in everything from The Wire to Marvel’s Thor. He’s also starred in the highly acclaimed British drama Luther. Aside from acting, he is also active as a famous musician, making songs in the R&B and hip hop genres.

Few seem to know this, but The Office is actually a US interaction of a British TV show, co-created and starring Ricky Gervais as David Brent. Brent has appeared briefly on the US show and starred in his own spin-off film. These days Ricky Gervais focuses mainly on stand-up comedy but recently wrapped up the final season of the Netflix show After Life, a dramatic comedy that has made an impact with fans and critics.

Evan Peters briefly played a nepotism hire at Dunder Mifflin. He wasn’t yet too well known but is now a major name in Hollywood. American Horror Story was one of his first major roles however he’s also acted as QuickSilver in the X-Men film series. He once again played Quicksilver in the show Wanda-Vision. It is unknown whether he will return in the role, but fans certainly hope so. Keep a look out for more.

Bob Odenkirk
Bob Odenkirk may have only starred in one episode of The Office, but his character certainly left an impression. While Odenkirk has been an industry feature for decades, he came to mainstream fame as the silver-tongued lawyer Saul Goodman before getting his own spin-off, Better Call Saul, which recently aired its final season to great acclaim. Other than that, he’s recently starred in the film, Nobody, a more dark-humored take on the John Wick formula.
