In search of clarification, I sought advice from a common friend. Can we talk? I inquired, my voice weak. He agreed to meet in a neighborhood coffee shop. As I sipped my drink, I organized everything. ‘Have you seen anything weird about him recently?’ I asked. He paused before nodding. Actually, yes. I have seen certain things that don’t add up.

Odd behavior noticed
‘They said they had noticed his strange conduct in recent months, frequently seeing him with both my mother and the other woman. ‘He’s been pretty secretive,’ my friend added, looking at me warily. ‘And it’s not only recently. It has been going on for a time.’ My heart sunk more. Why didn’t anyone tell me? If everyone else knew, why was I the last to find out?
