Nothing out of the ordinary
As the days went by, Loretta noticed nothing out of the ordinary. The exchanges between Nicole and Cathy seemed genuine. Nicole carried out her tasks efficiently and Cathy seemed to appreciate her presence. Although Loretta watched carefully, nothing strange or worrying happened. Loretta was astonished, but aware that she must not give in. However, there is an anomaly. “I must persevere in my search,” she recalls, determined to find the truth.

Nicole seems to be doing her job well, while Cathy seems comfortable and appreciative of the assistance provided. Loretta observes Nicole helping Cathy with her daily chores, from toileting to cooking. Cathy’s attitude also suggests that she appreciates Nicole’s presence. Loretta thinks that perhaps she’s imagined the whole thing, but she doesn’t share her doubts with Michael. Both were aware that they had to tread carefully until they were sure.
