This brutal takedown seen at the Yankee Stadium would be devastating for Gifford, who would be hurt to the point that he would need to take a fair amount of time off football.

Here Dwight Clark, the wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers stepped into a reception that would lead to Joe Montana receiving a six-year touchdown pass that would lead to a 28-27 win for the 49ers against the Dallas Cowboys. This led the 49ers to be permitted into the Super Bowl, where the Bengals lay awaiting their defeat.
