Humiliating
It was humiliating, but when he did it in front of his pals, I didn’t care. They were not the smartest collection of men; to put it frankly, they were all quite dumb. But this time, things were different. This was his workplace, his coworkers, and his manager: individuals with status and meaning in the world. He should have gotten me excited, but instead he said this:

“Monica’s only role in our marriage is to bring me beer in the evening, which I could do on my own,” he had stated, laughing heartily. This comment may not appear to be a major insult to some, but it made my blood boil. He labeled me useless. ME: the person who does absolutely everything around the house. He can’t even prepare his own sandwiches!
