Anonymous Caller
The sound was terrifying, and Amanda’s head swiveled around for its source. She had been so focused on her book that the piercing sound had startled her. She quickly realized that it was the iPhone, which had lit up in an almost ghostlike fashion. The jarring sound was probably the girl’s choice of ringtone. When she picked up the phone, she saw that the Caller ID was set to ‘Restricted.’ She slowly raised the phone to her head and answered.

Disturbing Consequences
Amanda was greeted by a fearsome static. She helplessly asked who was calling, her voice being steadily drowned out by the increasing intensity of the abrasive drone. She was on the verge of throwing the phone when the ‘caller’ put the phone down. What had just happened? Was there some kind of connection or signal error? Amanda could not help but feel that someone was messing with her and had bad intentions.
